Reliance Jio Might Launch 4G Smartphone for as low as Rs.1000

Jio 4G from Reliance has already created tremendous hype amongst Smartphone users. That’s because of its lightning fast 4G speed and that too for free (Till December). Reliance, along with Jio 4G, has its Smartphone segment running under the brand name called Lyf.

Even though the company has successfully penetrated the data market, it still needs to cover a large part of the country that falls under rural segment. A large population of India has never used internet before and targeting that audience will on the priority for Reliance.

According to a report by Economic Times, Reliance is planning to launch two phones between January-March. The phone would offer 4G support and also VoLTE. In order to target the rural market, the company might price this device for as low as Rs.1000/- and offer free voice and video calling.

Obviously, the device would not be a high or even a mid-range in terms of specifications. But the device will have sufficient resources to access internet, 4G, VoLTE, and Video calling. There hasn’t been any announcement about the specification of the handset, but it is said to not have touch screen.

As of today, Reliance Jio enjoys 25 million users and company plans to extend that figure up to 100 million in the shortest possible time. It is also said that company is planning to launch two devices out of which, one will be priced at Rs.1000/- while the other will be priced at Rs.1500/-

There isn’t any official announcement from the side of the company regarding launch of the devices, so it is hard to confirm. But some of the leading media suggests that the announcement will be made soon.
