Google Android Security Updates Rolling Out for January; Fixed 95 Vulnerabilities


Google Pixel and Nexus devices started getting android security updates for January month. Google security updates includes multiple fixes but major thing they fixed is 95 vulnerabilities. The free update and upgrade is available today. Google recommends Android smartphone owners to get this update immediately.

Google released the updates with factory images and OTA images for Google Pixel and Nexus devices. The other supported devices will receive this single OTA update soon. Other OTA images came up is Google Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 9 and Nexus 6. All will get this security update.


Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphone users will able to download the Nougat based builds NMF26U and NMF26V. Not only Google devices but makers like Samsung and LG will get the same updates later on.

As the the 05-01-2017 update all issues which are associated with 01-01-2017 update are completed. The first update came few days back on 01-01-2017 but now Google fixes all the errors which were addressed. Now Google fixes 95 vulnerabilities issue as well. There are 23 bugs which was fixed under 01-01-2017 patch while other 72 issues fixed under 05-01-2017 patch.
