There are ringing news announced by the Noida based company Ringing Bells, that it will start the delivery of the cheapest smartphone Freedom 251 from July 8th 2016. Moreover, the company also declared that it will make delivery only to 5,000 customers initially, at a delivery charge of Rs 40 which is more than 15% of the price of the smartphone, after which the total of the phone goes upto Rs 291.
The CEO of Freedom 251 Mohit Goel told IANS that he will want to see the responses and feedback for the 5,000 handsets delivered and then only will he start delivery of other phones. Goel has also written letter to the Indian Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi asking for the government support for the same.
Mohit Goel stated that the company has stopped the delivery of Freedom 251 for multiple times, which was before scheduled on June 30th 2016, has now been delayed to July 6th. As per the latest news, the CEO also stated that the company is incurring a huge loss between Rs 180 to Rs 270 per handset, as the parts are imported from taiwan, but at the same time he hopes that he will recover the amount by making sales in large volumes.
The Freedom 251 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with a 4 inch display. It is powered by quad core 1.3 GHz processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage (expandable 32GB). The camera comes with 8 megapixel front and flash and 3.2 megapixel selfie. The colors available for the smartphone are white and black.
